Service Learning Information
Service Learning Transcript Notation
It is a goal for LS majors to complete 150 hours of service learning. As future teachers, a habit of community service can help you establish your lifelong professional and personal goals. It will help you better understand social and cultural values of your surrounding communities and awaken awareness to the many layers of our complex world. Remember that teaching is a giving profession.

You will be introduced to service opportunities in LS 1201 & 3301 and how to track and authenticate your hours. We are hoping that you take advantage of this opportunity while at Cal Poly.
To qualify as transcript notation hours, the service must be off campus, for a non-profit or governmental agency, and unpaid.
